When using Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x why does my browser appear to
hang or the form boxes don't appear on the secure order form?
There is a problem with the Secure Sockets Layer version 3 (SSL3) implementation in
Internet Explorer 3. Microsoft have confirmed this is an issue, and the workaround is to
disable SSL3 support. To do this choose the View menu and click on Options.
On the Advanced tab choose the Cryptography Settings button, and clear
the check box next to Allows SSL3 (secure) connections. Internet Explorer will
then use SSL2 to transmit data securely. You may need to restart Internet Explorer once
you have done this to ensure that it recognises the change.
I have registered to use the shopping basket, but I keep getting asked for
my name and password. Why?
Our registration and login system uses cookies. You need to be using a
cookie-compatible browser, and have cookies enabled. We do not store any personal
information in your cookie; this is retained on our site, and the cookie we set on your
browser combined with other information about your connection is used to uniquely identify
you. Also, the cookie is set to be removed from your browser when you close it to prevent
unauthorised use, and an expiry time is also built into the system so that if you leave
your browser alone for a while you may be asked to log in again - these features are to
prevent unauthorised access to your account.
I have forgotten my shopping basket password; what can I do?
If you forget your password then our automated system can email your details to you.
Simply complete the request form and follow any
instructions that appear, and your login name and password will be sent to you
immediately.
